All Things Bright and Beautiful is the title of popular Anglican children’s hymn written by Cecil Frances Humphreys-Alexander. The text may have been inspired by a verse from S. T. Coleridge’s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner: “He prayeth best, who loveth best; All things great and small; For the dear God who loveth us; He made and loveth all.” It explains to children the meaning of the opening line of the Apostles’ Creed: “I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.”
